The farm , Miejiespoort, within the municipal area of Mossel Bay, was bought by the Fouche Trust in 1999 with the initial purpose of game farming. The farm was fenced in and game such as Cheetah, Giraffe, Sable, Rhino, Zebra, Nyala, Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Black Impala, Waterbuck and other species was introduced.
Due to the location of the farm the tourism potential was soon realized and the development of a “BushLodge” commenced in 2003.
